In November 2026, we’re heading to one of the most untouched and rewarding saltwater fisheries in the Caribbean — Xcalak on the Fly. This hosted trip is designed for anglers of all backgrounds, from first-time saltwater explorers to seasoned permit hunters looking for their next challenge.
Xcalak is a remote, quiet, and beautifully wild destination. The fishery is rich in permit, bonefish, and tarpon, and the local guides bring deep, generational knowledge of the tides, microcurrents, and hidden flats that make this coastline so special. Whether you’re learning the salt for the first time or refining advanced sight‑fishing skills, this destination offers the perfect balance of opportunity, challenge, and growth. This is a fishing‑first experience — immersive, authentic, and built around time on the water.
Join Bow River Troutfitters for an All Inclusive, 7 night stay, 6 days fishing at the newest lodge on the Yucatan Peninsula based out of Casa Paraiso. Our goal is to have fun and support our guests to the best of our abilities with two hosts to coordinate with the lodge hosts and ensure that the excursion is relaxed and enjoyable.

Getting There
Xcalak is on the Yucatan Peninsula South of Tulum, Mexico. International flights into Tulum, Mexico (TQO) are available from Calgary. Once in Tulum, the lodge will pick us up in their air conditioned shuttle, maybe with a quick stop for some refreshments to enjoy as we travel to the lodge.
$4,300 USD per angler (double occupancy) Includes all taxes, meals, drinks, and in country ground transportation.
