Fishing Report - August 14th, 2019

The river is basically right where it should be (in terms of flows) for this time of year, bouncing around the 110ms2 mark. Fishing has been quite productive! Fish are eating streamers. Think brighter flashy flies on sunny days. Olive and black patterns will also produce, especially on cloudy days. Nymphing with larger stonefly patterns and dead-drifted leeches can also be effective, but also consider smaller point flies now, like Caddis pupae and small mayflies. For dry-fly action in this heat, try getting out in the evening instead.

Streamers: Galloup’s Barely Legals, Kreelex Minnows, Carlton’s Gulpin Sculpin

Nymphs: Girdle Bugs, Strolis Classified Caddis Pupae, Brillon’s Prince Jig Purple

Dries: X Caddis, EZ Caddis, CDC Elk Hair, PFD Ants, Trigger Ants
