Over the past week southern Alberta has been devastated with severe flooding in Canmore, Calgary, High River, Okotoks, and numerous other outlaying areas. Communities have come together to help rescue and clean up residences affected. I personally have helped in Bragg Creek and Bowness. It is almost surreal that the Bow River has caused so much damage over a short period of time. In conjunction with the volunteer efforts with the residences, local and dedicated fly fisherman have teamed up with Alberta Environment and Natural Resources to help rescue stranded trout in cutoff flood plains. If you would like to help out Volunteers needed at Southland Dog Park for 8:30am Friday June 27th.
The best guess is they have put about a 1000 fish back in the river the past three days of all different species!!!! If you cant find them give us a call and we can give you a few numbers to get in contact!
